Winnie is a 7 year old Dachshund Female.
Winnie is the sweetest little thing. She does however carry the blue gene so has colour dilution alopecia (CDA) This means she has very little fur on her body. Health wise this doesn’t cause an issue but does mean she has a few small additional care needs. During the Winter months Winnie needs warmth and jumpers and during hotter months sun screen and protecting from the heat.
Winnie came to us from a hoarding case where there were around 50 dogs inside the house.
Due to her start in life Winnie can be quite resourceful especially with the other dogs. She can get jealous at times of her owner and occasionally food. She shows no signs of guarding with humans though.
Out and about Winnie absolutely LOVES her walks. She can easily keep up with the bigger dogs and is not lacking in energy in any way shape or form. She is so excited by the world around her so does need a home that will get her out and about to see all that life entails.
Winnie is now virtually housetrained but does still need some additional support. She is fine to be left for short periods.
Winnie needs a home either with a VERY CONFIDENT male dog who will stand up to her or as an only dog with someone around all or most of the time.
Winnie is vaccinated, kc vaccinated, de flead, de wormed, microchipped, spayed and has had her teeth sorted. She will also be rehomed with 5 weeks free insurance from Agria.
Anyone wishing to offer Winnie a home would need to be willing to travel to Stoke-on-Trent to meet with her with all immediate members of the family and any current resident dogs.
