Marley 6 month old lurcher puppy needs a sighthound experienced home.
Please meet the beautiful Marley found abandoned at the end of December with his Brother Jacob locally to us in Stoke on Trent. Thankfully a local farmer secured them, got them to a local boarding kennels who then contacted ourselves.
Marley has now served his 7 days under N-U-L Borough council and nobody has been looking for the boys.
We do believe the boys to have come from working parents so even at this age Marley does have quite a strong drive.
Therefore we would not be willing to home him with cats or small furries.
He refused to take a telling off from my 6kg Dachshund x female he was a little pecky and it took my GSD x Lurcher female to step in. With a larger bolder female he immediately accepted correction and listened.
Marley needs a sighthound experienced home with someone around all or most of the time. He is a baby so needs housetraining, confidence building for alone time and socialisation and work.
Marley we feel would be best placed into a home with a larger, confident and capable sighthound female. One willing to play with him but also let him know when enough is enough. He could live as part of a mixed sighthound pack but we would not place him one on one alongside another male and we do not think he will do well as a solitary dog.
Out and about Marley walks like a dream and we do feel that someone has already placed the basics of lead work into them before they were abandoned, however he can be a little vocal when he sees other dogs. He is only a baby though and currently a frustrated greeter so a home who understands this and the work needed to ensure it does not become reactivity is necessary.
Marley is already quite a large pup and is going to make a decent sized adult dog so any new family must understand and be prepared for that.
Marley travels well and can be rehomed with sighthound savvy children 5 years and upwards. He has shown no signs of nippy or grabby behaviour with humans and currently shows no signs of any form or resource guarding. He is kennelled with his littermate at the moment and they share nicely.
Marley is vaccinated, kc vaccinated, de flead, de wormed and microchipped. Marley will need to be neutered at a relative age discussed with ourselves and any new adopter.
Marley is currently located in Stoke on Trent and anyone wishing to offer him a home needs to complete the pre adoption questionnaire below.
You must also be willing to travel to meet him with all immediate members of the family and any resident dogs.
