Elmo

Meet Elmo the 18 month old gentle, loving lurcher boy.

Beautiful Elmo is now ready to start his search for his forever home.

Elmo was sadly found abandoned with a broken leg and permission was given to transfer him into Greyhound Gaps care for emergency treatment.

The leg has now been fixed with a plate and has healed perfectly expected to cause him no issues in the future.

Despite being abandoned in the most unimaginable pain Elmo has not let this dull his sparkle. He can be naturally shy with new people to begin with as is to be expected and will occasionally cower down. It is easy to see this boy has known  sometimes expect a cruel hand.

Once you have his trust though he is your new best friend.

Elmo is fabulous with ALL dogs big and small, a gentle, soulful boy who diffuses any unrest with play. He is though not cat friendly.

Out on walks Elmo can get a little silly and excitable. He does want to meet every dog he sees, but then becomes a little worried that they are attached to humans.

Due to 6 weeks crate rest Elmo is crate trained and does love his crate. That means with the company of other dogs he can easily be left for 4 hour periods without any upset or unsettlement.

House training wise he is doing well but is best taken out on his own as if the other dogs are there he is so excited that he can forget why he was taken out and may have the odd accident still.

As a young boy though who had to have solitary confinement quietly in the crate from them its only natural their prescence is exciting and fun.

Elmo would be best suited to a house with another dog for company and a home with someone around to begin with to ensure his continued training is covered.

He can be rehomed with dog savvy children 10 years and upwards. He is completely non aggressive but younger more loud children may scare him especially in the beginning. He travels like a dream settling to sleep.

Elmo is vaccinated, kc vaccinated, de flead, de wormed, microchipped and castrated.

Elmo is currently located in Stoke on Trent and any family wishing to meet with him would need to be willing to travel with all immediate members of the family and any current resident dogs.
