Dot was dumped onto ourselves in May 2022, found at 7 weeks pregnant with a body score of 0. From there we have been on what felt like a horrendous journey with this girl, there have been tears but much love and laughter.

Dot is special. Not only is she special but she is a survivor and she does not surprisingly give her trust easy. There is no doubt that Dots life before landing with us was one of neglect, abuse and continuous whelping of litters.

After the most traumatic birth that resulted in 8 happy healthy puppies and 3 who didn't make it Dot set about in poor body condition rearing them herself, refusing interference putting even more pressure onto her already battered body.

She suffered with a calcium dip 3 weeks in and we had no choice but to step in and stop her feeding her babies. This took quite the mental toll on Dot who then refused to eat and had to have steroids to get her back to health.

If all that was not enough we then had to have mammary strips carried out at time of spay, thankfully good margins were managed and she has now recovered.

Dot needs a quiet patient home with extremely experienced sighthound owners, who understand the needs of a dog that has suffered past trauma.

With those she knows she is the most loving dog but not so much with strangers. Anyone offering her a home will need to understand her need for a safe space when people come to the home.

Out on walks Dot is quite a strong little dog. She walks well in the main but can occasionally be a little reactive. In her kennel she is calm, quiet and clean but would prefer a home as an only dog with someone around all the time in the main. She may settle with a calm male sighthound after several introductions. She needs a child and small furry free home.

Dot is vaccinated, kc vaccinated, de flead, de wormed and microchipped. She is also spayed, received a dental and will be rehomed with one months free insurance.

Dot is located in Stoke on Trent and anyone willing to offer her a home must be willing to meet her on a couple of occasions to understand her and her needs.
